| Formed two years ago, feisty electro-punks Angry Vs The Bear have made quite a name for themselves in quite a short time in the music world. The eccentric quartet have showcased at the SXSW festivals in Texas for the last two years running, to sold-out crowds that put up far more demand than they could supply.
This band have so far supported some of the industry’s biggest acts of the last few years; Florence & The Machine, The Hoosiers, Juliette Lewis, Dirty Pretty Things, Reverend & The Makers, Red Light Company, Flash Guns and Bens Brother and look like they’ll be set to be top of the bill in the near future.
The band’s eccentric appearance-think 80’s clothes and big backcombed hair- and their tunes make them stand out a mile from the crowd that’ll be watching them in awe this festival. Newest single ‘Show Emotion’ sounds like what would happen if Portishead ever stepped foot into disco and enjoyed themselves doing so-but only AVB could make it sound quite this good.
Older single ‘I am electric’ sounds like the best way to describe them live- they are certainly that.
They are frantic. They are noisy. They are one of the very best bands to ever come out of Colchester. They garner rave reviews and consistent media approval. More importantly, their tunes are light-hearted, glorious fun. and they look set to go far. Angry Vs The Bear are going to make the main stage the place to watch. See for yourself, or you’ll be angry at missing out!
