As the festival has grown year by year, so have the costs, overheads and health and safety requirements. It is getting harder and harder to keep on top of these so to keep this festival free we need your support!

Optimus Prime
Optimus Prime is the main protagonist and leader of the "heroic" faction Autobots; he is a fire engine; he is Side Burn’s personal rescuer; he is Super Robot; he is holder of the sacred Matrix. Put these five masterful components together and he is transformed into the Kelvedon Festival 2010 rock covers band.
When they return to Earth from the Cybertron universe you can find them hanging around street corners in Braintree. These boys have a growing reputation for their great live sound and tight energetic performances; they perform modern covers plus a few old classics with a modern twist. Their set includes songs by the Foo Fighters, Kasabian, the Killers, Pendulum, Green Day, Arctic Monkeys, the Beatles & many more. They play in and around Essex performing in pubs and clubs including the Chappel, Coggeshall, Baileys in Braintree and, of course, Kelvedon Labour Club.
The band line up, formed back in 2006, is:
• Paul Whiteman - Vocals
• Steve Greenwood - Lead Guitar
• Andy Overall - Rhythm Guitar
• Martin Holmes - Bass
• Dave Hopkins – Drums
Andy, Steve & Dave have previously played in a band called In Demand together; Martin has previously played in Remorse & has known Andy all his life. Paul was previously in Warts'n'All & has also known the other guys since their In Demand days. Since then we have headlined at the Essex University end of year ball in the Alternative tent, played at Spurs ground White Hart Lane and this year they are set to appear at three large festivals in Essex as well as other venues around the area. And, of course, the guys are looking forward to transforming your world at Kelvfest.
