Housework
Housework is four funky guys here to offer Kelvedon Festival something a little bit different. They are one of the freshest and best bands on the burgeoning Colchester music scene. Pete, Paul, Richard and Matt have only been gigging for around a year, but have already created a real stir. Their funk, rock and soul based sound draws from Sly Stone, the Chili Peppers, James Brown, Hendrix and Jamiroquai, fused with their own distinctive and matchless style.

This summer they have secured slots at Stowfest Music Festival, the Ipswich Music Day, and Nayland Music Festival. They are also going great guns in the Live & Unsigned national music competition and have earned themselves a second gig at Colchester Arts Centre. This is no accident, Housework are simply an amazing live band who work their audience from the first chord to the last, and always get the crowd dancing. For more information, full gig listings and some amazing tunes, go to: Housework

And now something about the band members...

Pete Townshend (vocals) has been singing and playing guitar for years but only recently discovered his talent for lyrics and writing original songs. Pete's influences range from Rap and Hip Hop to Soul and Funk.

Paul Cook (guitar and trumpet) has been playing guitar and bass since his teens and this week is (still) mostly listening to James Brown and playing the intro to 'Elvis Is Dead' by Living Color on the bass at any opportunity! Also Paul has been playing the trumpet for a few months as featured in the intro to "Walking Away".

Richard Mann (rhythm guitar) brings a variety of musical influences to the band and further distinguishes himself by NOT smoking Golden Virginia...

Matt Kelly (drums) has a wealth of diverse drumming experience, playing in a variety of bands plus is also an accomplished music producer and engineer with his own studio! Our most recent new member, Matt brings a rock influence to the band’s sound.

With Pete’s incredible song writing and the band’s superb musicianship, these guys really are ones to watch. If you don’t dance to Housework, then you just ain’t got no soul.

Some recent Shouts have been incorrectly deleted while getting rid of some unwanted stuff. Aplogies to those concerned.
