Red Faced Robot proclaim they are inspired by ‘a blend of modern culture, healthy seaside living and rock & roll’, the sea air has obviously done this band some good. This band are, in modern terms, the kind of weird that means you’re free to make good music. With the kind of bounce that make last year’s Curly Circus so much fun, and the kind of alluring strangeness that makes bands like Aphex Twin stand out from the rest, if more people knew about this band, they might rule the world one day. You really have to hear it to believe it. These boys just need the right promotion, and world domination is in their sights.
Check out the lyrics to Till Death do Us Party -
Dance like you believe it
Throw your moves onto the floor
I’m like Torvell and Dean – yeah
C’mon you wanna see some more
Jump, jump, jump do the robot
Clap your hands, stamp your feet, scream out – Oh Yeah
Jump, jump, jump do the robot
Clap your hands, stamp your feet, scream out – Oh Yeah
Till death do us party
A marriage made in heaven
Our biggest commitment
Is to go give it large
Jump, jump, jump do the robot
Clap your hands, stamp your feet, scream out – Oh Yeah
Jump, jump, jump do the robot
Clap your hands, stamp your feet, scream out – Oh Yeah
I wanna see you spin
Strut till you hear applause
Neil’s bass is pumping
My feel good lions about to roar
Jump, jump, jump do the robot
Clap your hands, stamp your feet, scream out – Oh Yeah
Jump, jump, jump do the robot
Clap your hands, stamp your feet, scream out – Oh Yeah
Jump, jump, jump do the robot
Clap your hands, stamp your feet, scream out – Oh Yeah
Jump, jump, jump do the robot
Clap your hands, stamp your feet, scream out – Oh Yeah
For years a battle has been fought between the forces of good and evil. Both sides, equally matched await the arrival of those who will turn the tide in their favor. Rising up from the smoldering ashes of battle, salvation has arrived; crafted by battle ravaged hands, salvation in the form of Red Faced Robot. The Harwich five-piece describe themselves as ‘sci-fi p’funk rock’, and you really have to hear it to believe it.
Red Faced Robot may just be the salvation of modern music. |
