Massively important announcement!
Support our beer tent and help to keep our festival free! Crouch Vale real ale, draught lager, cans of cider, lager & Guinness, wine & soft drinks will all be on sale at reasonable prices. This is one of our major sources of income. By supporting our beer tent & not bringing your own drinks you will be helping to keep Kelvedon Free for the future.
Please also remember that the site is a recreation ground and football pitch - you are not permitted to bring glass bottles, glasses and excessive quantities of alcohol on to the site, and these may be confiscated at the entry points.
Please use the black sacks & clear recycling sacks and bins for your empties and other rubbish, and help us keep Kelvedon clean and tidy.
Finally, please respect other people, drink responsibly, and above all enjoy your day. Help us to make this our best festival yet. |

Colchester Kitchens save Kelvedon Festival |
|
Local company Colchester Kitchens have saved this year’s event by becoming our main sponsors. In the current financial climate Kelvedon Festival organisers have struggled to keep the festival free, and this year have had to consider drastically reducing the size of the event. However, thanks to their generosity, the festival will continue to grow, and will now be known as the ‘Colchester Kitchens Kelvedon Free Music Festival’.

The Hamsters to headline Kelvedon Festival |
|
Kelvedon Free Music Festival is proud to announce this year’s headline act will be Southend rock & blues band The Hamsters. The guitar, bass and drums trio have long been established as one of the UK’s premier live attractions, having performed over 4,000 concerts in 24 years. Although primarily playing their own brand of rootsy rock & blues, they're also widely regarded as the UK's leading interpreters of the music of Jimi Hendrix & ZZ Top.
"The Hamsters are fabulous: one of Britain's very best live bands" - Bob Harris, Radio 2.
The Hamsters will be joined bands such as Angry vs the Bear, Medicine and the New Town Kings on this year’s Kelvedon Festival main stage.

Battle of the Bands 2010 - Winners |
|
Huge congratulations to Raise These Sails, winners of the annual Kelvedon Free Music Festival Battle of the Bands held on Friday 5th March at Kelvedon Institute. They saw off stiff competition from four other local school-age bands to win the coveted opening slot at this year’s festival, taking place on Saturday 10th July. Members of the six piece ‘post hardcore rock’ band attend either Honywood School or Colchester Institute.
Raise These Sails will be joined at the 2010 festival by runners up The Kipling Conspiracy, who attend Philip Morant College. The standard was so high this year that judges decided to offer the runners up a slot on the Essex Rocks stage. Judge Arthur Smith said, “This was the closest competition we have ever had. Any one of the five bands would have been worthy winners.” Other bands taking part were Caged, Buried by Dawn and One Kill Away From a Pavelow. |
